ARTHRITIS and other matters

Actually, I am glad to be living and growing here. I now have the full-time use of an arts and crafts workshop. I am slowly building an array of the
residents artwork. We will be participating in the Bucktown fair Aug. 28 & 29.

Today, most of my efforts were focused on my pain in the left leg/ sciatica / fibromyalgia. (Unfortunately, that's the ongoing story for me). I was able to get alot of help here, including a non-steroidal injection in this area.

Now, I am waiting for the xrays so that all of my supportive professionals can evaluate a plan of action. There are so many health issues for me even though I prefer to stay on top and improve my condition(s).

MISUNDERSTANDINGS

I have just learned that when blogging,  the use of capital letters exclusively is impolite or easily misunderstood.

I think that blogging is a great way to reflect my life day to day. I enjoy writing, and I like capital letters.  They are easy to read and people seem to notice them.  (But who knew that if you use capital letters, that it means something different than what you mean? Some people say it means you are angry.).   I wonder who writes blogging rules.

But, now that I know,  I'm blogging without all caps.   Although today, I  am going through unbelievable health issues and can't wait til I feel better.  (So maybe I should use caps, ha ha).  But,  it's always appreciated when people around you understand.

I like coming to the computer room to do some quick research and to chat.  Thanks for listening.    Jeanne

ITS A NEW DAY--ITS A NEW LIFE FOR ME

I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO WRITE FOR A LITTLE WHILE DUE TO A  HEALTH CRISIS. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHY I MADE THE DECISION TO MOVE HERE IN DECEMBER 2009. IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS MY PROBLEM KEPT ESCALATING; I COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING. WHEN I COULDN'T EAT OR DRINK AT ALL, MY CNA AND STAFF NURSE COULD TELL THAT I WAS PROBABLY DEHYDRATED AND NEEDED HELP FOR THE PAIN I WAS EXPERIENCING. SO WITH MY PERMISSION THEY ORDERED AN AMBULANCE AND BY 8 PM I WAS IN THE ER WITH AN IV AND STARTED THE PROCESS OF TESTS. BY 3AM I WAS IN THE HEART CARE UNIT WITH ALL SORTS OF THINGS HOOKED UP. BY NOON, THE DOCTOR SAID
" YOU DO NOT NEED THIS HIGH TECH STUFF WE DO HERE." WHAT A RELIEF! MOVING RIGHT ALONG, I FOUND MYSELF BEING WHEELED INTO THE GERIATRIC ACUTE CARE UNIT. OH MY GOODNESS, AM I REALLY THIS OLD! I AM VERY GRATEFUL FOR THE EXCEPTIONAL CARE I WAS BLESSED WITH. I WILL NEED MANY FOLLOW-UP TESTS AND MONITORING THIS YEAR, BUT ITS ALL GOOD. THAT'S RIGHT SUPPORTIVE LIVING IS THE WAY TO GO. Fitness Class Fun

I just finished my exercise for the day. We had visitors from Mind & Body/Chicago Sun-Times photographing the class. Most of us were able to keep Mind & Body together during the workout! All who are interested will be able to see us June 23rd in the Sun-Times. I'm going on a shopping trip Wednesday...more later!

sunny saturday

The sun woke me up today; it is extra bright! I'm looking forward to wii bowling this afternoon. It will be my fourth time and I'm doing somewhat better. I have a mending job for a resident to complete this morning. I am so glad to provide a useful service. Also, I want to put in some time on the wallhanging. There will be an interesting DVD after dinner tonight. 7:16 am
